2026-27 Budget: Increasing the stamp duty rate for residential property
The Financial Secretary proposed to increase the stamp duty rate for residential property with value above $100 million from 4.25% to 6.5%. The new rates apply to any instrument executed on or after 26 February 2026 for the sale and purchase or transfer of residential property.
